Keiran is a second-year doctoral researcher in Criminology at Birkbeck, University of London, funded by the Consortium for the Humanities and the Arts South-East England AHRC. His research focuses on understanding compulsory psychiatric treatment as a carceral practice through examining queer experiences of detention under the Mental Health Act in England. He is also actively involved in the Mental Health Nursing research team at King's College London, where he researches the use of surveillance technology in inpatient psychiatric settings.
Keiran is also an Associate Lecturer in Psychological Sciences at Birkbeck. He aims to create inclusive learning environments that foster critical thinking skills to support students beyond the classroom.
